Vaz Juchima


Vaz is a prominent business leader in the Geelong Region. He was previously the Managing Director of Danum Engineering, a successful Mechanical Engineering Contractor, a division of the publicly listed EVZ Ltd Group of companies. Vaz also holds a number of other Directorships with privately owned companies.

Vaz is a Fellow of the AICD and an Associate of the AIM. He is a past President of the Geelong Business Club and is actively involved in the local community. Vaz is the longest servicing Director on the Gforce Board, commencing his membership in 1993 and acting as Chairman for the last 18 years.

Bill Mithen

Deputy Chair

Bill is Chief Executive Officer of Geelong’s leading philanthropic organisation, the Give Where You Live Foundation. Through this role he has a strong understanding of the Geelong Community Services sector and an involvement with many not-for-profit organisations. Prior to this he was the Australian Operations Director at Save the Children Australia and responsible for all their Australian programming, commercial operations, volunteers and members.

Bill also has extensive commercial experience and previously held company directorships and equity shareholdings in a range of small and medium private enterprises as well as working in senior Retail Marketing and Franchise Management positions with multinational oil company, Caltex. Bill is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors Course and holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Management and Masters of Business Administration from the University of New England.

Elaine Carbines


Elaine Carbines (BA Monash, Dip Ed Monash, GAICD) is the CEO of G21 – The Geelong Region Alliance. G21 is the Regional Strategic Planning Committee covering the municipalities of Greater Geelong, Surf Coast, Colac Otway, Golden Plains and Queenscliffe in Victoria, Australia.

Elaine’s career has been diverse. She worked as a humanities teacher in Victorian State Schools during the 80s and 90s before entering State Parliament.

From 1999 – 2006 Elaine was the Member for Geelong Province. During this time she held the positions of Parliamentary Secretary for Education and Environment. Following her parliamentary career, Elaine worked as the Manager of Strategic Relations at Parks Victoria from 2007-2010.

Denis Peacock


Denis is a certified practicing accountant and chartered secretary, holding long standing membership of CPA Australia and the Institute of Corporate Managers, Secretaries and Administrators. He is also a registered company auditor with extensive experience in financial management, strategic and business planning and corporate governance. After twenty seven years service in education, training and management at the Gordon Institute of TAFE, Denis retired as Senior Manager Strategic & Business Planning in 2007.

He is a past president of the Geelong Business Club and is currently active in business consultancy, a director of Gforce Recruitment, Geelong Art Gallery and The Gordon as well as being a director of a number of private investment companies.

Todd Devine


Todd holds a Bachelor of Business (Property), is a Certified Practicing Valuer and member of the Australian Property Institute.

For over 20 years he has worked in the property industry as a valuer and property consultant predominantly within Victoria. He established his own consultancy practice, Devine Mapleson Property Consultants in Geelong in 1999 which he successfully managed until 2009 when it merged with other businesses to create Opteon (Victoria), the largest independent valuation and property consultancy firm in Victoria.

In 2012 he sold his interests in this business and his current role is as General Manager, Property for Costa Asset Management. Todd is a graduate of the Leaders for Geelong program and is an active member of the Geelong community, including being a committee member of the St Joseph’s Football and Netball Club, a Director of St Laurence Housing Ltd and is an external committee member of the Central Geelong Task Force Special Committee (overseeing the redevelopment of Central Geelong).

Joanna Monahan


Joanna Monahan is the principal at Monahan Legal.

Joanna is a taxation and superannuation expert and has a Master of Laws, with a focus in taxation. Joanna is a Law Institute of Victoria Accredited Specialist in Tax Law. In these areas she provides practical advice to accountants, businesses and individuals in relation to business structuring, succession planning, business agreements, agribusiness and asset protection.

As the next step in Joanna’s career she has opened a practice on the Bellarine Peninsula to provide legal advice in relation to broader issues such as commercial contracts, property transactions and wills and estates, whilst also advising in the specialist areas such as tax and superannuation.

Joanna is looking forward to sharing the knowledge she has acquired to support her local community and to continue working in the areas of tax and superannuation.

Michelle Whyte


Michelle Whyte is the Executive Officer of Leadership Ballarat & Western Region with a strong interest in developing of emerging community leaders. After spending over a decade working and volunteering for not-for-profits Michelle has a lead transformative initiatives across employment services, adult education and community sectors. Skilled in stakeholder and community engagement, adult education program design and innovation, Michelle enjoys working with individuals to develop their very best version of themselves.

Michelle continues to give back to the sector that she learnt so much from serving as the Chair of the Ballarat and Wendouree Neighbourhood Centres in Ballarat. In her tenure as the Executive Manager at Ballarat Neighbourhood Centre she oversaw the rapid growth of the organisation. The success of the organisation was acknowledged with several local and industry awards including the Learn Local Legend Award, Adult Community & Further Education AMES Diversity Innovation Award and finalists two years running in the Federation Business School Commerce Ballarat Business Awards.

Michelle holds a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Accounting and Human Resources from Deakin University.
