Take care to target your resume for every job application so that it lists the most relevant skills and experiences for the position.
Although schooling and experience is highly regarded, there are other ways to demonstrate that you’re the right person for the job:
- Personal traits – for example, you’re an honest worker; you enjoy working as part of a team
- Strengths – things you’re good at or enjoy
- Experiences – volunteering or extra-curricular activities
- Key responsibilities and achievements… any awards or recognition that you’ve received
Under ‘work history’, each employment position listed should have bullet points detailing your responsibilities, tasks and achievements during your time there.
